If you decided you want to create your own business online you will be dealing with : hosting and domain for your site, blog. But more important you have to know first: what its going to be the niche that you will target.
Example of niches:
- How to lose weight.
- How to quite smoking.
- How to train my pet.
- How to date an older women.
- How to learn a new language.
Once you choose your niche you need to get your keywords, this are the words people are tipping to search for a subject, for example lets take "how to train my pet" niche, if you target those keywords odds are you will get to much broad visits, you need to target your niche even deeper, so you should get a more accurate keywords plan, because there are many types of pets and it will be really hard to cover em all in your website, so you need to focus, you could target "dogs" for example, and go even further and aim to more specifics needs for that niche to create relevant and targeted content , ranking for example : "how to train my dog to stop barking at night" , "how to reach my dog to follow orders", "how to improve my dog's behavior in the park". This type of traffic is called "organic traffic"
If you really want to get the best from your keywords you should get into SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) We will cover this subject later on in this site.
You can also boost your site in the rankings by using social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Youtube, Re6ddit, Pinterest, g+ , they are all great sources of traffic if you share content using em, but never spam, people hate spam and you will only get your accounts and sites banned and lose your time, remember always to offer value, content , information or even just an opinion, but is that what drives people to you, then you drive em to your business.
Free method vs Paid Method
To do this you can either choose to use free hosting and domain services or buy your own. You can create a blog and put it online by tonight for free using platforms like blogger or word press. This is a great opportunity for beginners since allows you to participate in the game without investing anything but you will sacrifice a little performance for it, but this won't affect you until the point you have massive amount of visitors each day. If you decide to invest you should research about hosting companies like hostigator or bluehost, and check their offers and services which you will pay monthly ( this feed can go anywhere from $5 to $40 for account ), unlike the domain you pay annually ( usually around $10 unless is a really high competition domain ).
Promoting you site : Free method and Pay method
Now that you own your web-site you need people to find out about it! and too do this once again we have two paths to take, free or paid ( or both ). So in order to get free traffic you will need a great keyword set ( to get organic traffic from search engines ) and Social Media presence.
If you want to invest then you will get to know the other face of Adsense, your know those cents you get when someone clicks on your Adsense ads we disused before came from? From Adwords for example, the other side of the coin and now you will be paying for each click someone sent to you, stead of the other way, so you pay $0.80 for each click, the person who sent you the click will get his $0.40 of the deal and google will take the rest, and you get a targeted new visitor to your site, everybody wins.
Now when it comes to paid for ad versing there are many more companies than Adwords, you can think of internet as a family of sites, you have the google family, then the social family, and each family offer their advertising platforms, Facebook sells likes, YouTube and google will display your site in related websites or videos and this is the famous PPC you heard so much about it.
Final Thoughts: if you don't know how to do it right, if you don't research you may just end wasting a lot of money , paying a lot for clicks and getting nothing in return but a non interested in what you offer visit. So this is more advance stuff we may discuss later, but we will focus mostly in free methods, since this are the ones that will teach you the most, and when you earn more experience you will be able to create paid campaigns and profit from them.
