I think not knowing this is why so many people get scam this days ( I see a lot of scams running in daily basis on Facebook ). So this Speed-Training will start answering this question. By Money publishers pay for advertising I mean networks like Adsense & Adwords, Adfly,customer services like surveys, trials....all the money pay for this advertising comes from companies around the world investing to promote their brand, products and services. When someone monetize his blog using Adsense, Adsense works as a link between the company and you, relevant ads will be display on your blog, when a visitor from your blog, clicks the ad and is delivered to the company websites, that costs the company around $0.10 and $2.00 ( it depends of the niche & keywords and the competition ), that's where the $0.XX that Adsense will pay the blog owner comes from in this case. If you have a blog you could also directly sell the ad space in your blog, if you have many visitors many companies will be interested in buying that valuable space.
In other cases the company maybe is interested in getting opinions about their products and services and will also invest money to get that, there are many legit sites that will pay you for taking surveys and getting free trials of different stuff, this sites / networks are getting a cut this times stead of Adsense, lets say an electronic shop wants to know what product likes more to people, if iPhone or Samsung, they will got to this networks and offer something from $5 to $25 or more, and then this networks will offer to take that survey for $2 to $10 ( some networks take less, some take more, and sadly many just take it all ).
Other companies may be interested in testing how their new software likes the customer, services similar to Netflix could pay up ti $20 for just getting a free trial from this networks.
